Wednesday 6th March, 2013: Trick Star Soccer Fest Launch
The event is being staged by OF3 (Oceania Freestyle Football Federation Inc) the governing body for the new soccer 'street based' sports of Panna & Freestyle Football. Spectators are sure to watch in awe as the 4th Annual Australian Freestyle Football Titles will see Australia's best Freestylers performing their amazing array of tricks with a soccer ball, in this 1 star world ranking event. Not only trying to win the Australian Title, but also to earn enough points to be in with a shot of taking their place on the F3 World Tour, just like fellow Australian Curtis Maher, who just few weeks later will jet off to Dubai for Round 1 of the Tour. He is sure to face some competition in trying to win his 1st Australian Title from some new up and coming freestylers, whose ranks have swelled from 5, when the sport was started officially in Australia in 2009, to over 50 & growing, OF3 members now. Sandwiched either side of the Freestyle Title's is the Inaugural Australian Panna Football Titles, for both junior and senior footballers. Panna is a brand of small sided (on this occasion 1v1) soccer played in an Octagonal Cage. The Cage is a regular at Melbourne Victory home games and is proving hugely popular & these Titles will allow players, of any standard, to participate and play in a fun competition that will see them play a minimum of 3 x 3 minute games in the new Tournament Cage which is 7.5m x 7.5m, for just a $10 entry fee. The other bonus is the Sponsorship Contract on offer for the winner of the Open Division plus heaps of Prizes for the winner of the Junior Title. Victorian Champion, young Karl Faraj, will start out as favourite for the Australian Title, but being a new sport anybody has a chance in the game, where the ultimate aim is to 'Make a Panna' which is to play the ball through your opponents legs and then retrieve the other side, which wins the game instantly, no matter what the score is. This makes games both highly technical and exciting games to both play in and watch with two types of player on show. 'The Scorer' who is a more physical player who scores goals or 'The Skiller' whose main aim is to panna his opponent with his amazing groundtricks. Finally with such an array of talent on show, the Trick Star Own the Ball Coaching sessions will be run on the hour all day and that is where anyone can come along and learn either Freestyle or Panna Tricks from the professionals, then practice them in the Panna Court (a smaller version of the Panna Cage). There is no official cost, although the not for profit association, will be handing out hat for donations on the day to help fund future projects OF3 President Paul Harvey, who is also a F3 (World Governing body for Freestyle & Panna) board member, is excited to a launch Trick Star Soccer Fest "I am really excited to launch the Trick Star Soccer Fest in Melbourne. We have had alot of exposure through our links with Melbourne Victory and I would encourage everyone who has an interest in soccer to come down on the day, find out more about us and show your support for what we are trying to achieve which ultimately is create better technical players in Australia. You can do that by either watching, participating or learning." The Trick Star Soccer Fest is between 11am and 3pm on the Red Steps of Queensbridge Square and will make a great family afternoon out. The Tour will take in 6 cities all over the world, with thousands of dollars in prize money and over 100,000 million people watching the event live on TV. It is an amazing opportunity for the young Freestyler who qualified after winning the Oceania Freestyle Football Championship on the Gold Coast back in November, which along with his 2nd place at the Australian Freestyle Football Titles back in March, secured him enough world ranking points to qualify Top 5 in the world rankings. Well done Curtis and we will be featuring more of him on the website soon, but in the meantime you can follow him on twitter now @Curtis_Maher to find out how his training program is going
Panna Football Australia Pty Ltd will be the Independent Sanctioning Governing body for the sport in Australia responsible for the governance, administration and development of the sport and it is headed by Paul Harvey who has spent the past 18 months touring Panna Football around the country prior to its launch as he explains "Some of the problems Football currently faces are, lack of new facilities to cope with demand, general poor technical ability of players and escalating costs for involvement in the sport, Panna will address all of these factors as it can be played in any small space, because it is small sided players get more touches which improves touch and you don't need to buy kits or pay large upfront fees. Playing football on the streets is where todays top players learn there skills, but sadly there is no culture of this in Australia so we are determined, through Panna to create this." The ultimate aim of 'Panna' is to 'Own' & 'Humiliate' your opponent. You can do this by tunnelling them ie. Playing the balls through there legs and then keeping possession but really for most Panna is all about being healthy, fair and having Fun in a cool environment that is affordable. It can be played in two forms 'Panna' where if you make a Panna, you win the game outright, no matter what the score is, the ultimate strategic & tactical game or 'Panna Street' which is a more traditional game, most goals scored wins, but Panna's count as goals, making it a Fast & Furious game. You can play in a variety of game formats '1 v 1' up '5 v 5' have a 'social meet on the streets' with just goals and a ball or play in Organised Tournaments & League in the 'Panna Cages' Panna is currently seeking 20 young promoters who for just $99 plus a small monthly fee, will be given the license to set up weekly 'meet's in their suburb which will then host an annual Tournament plus have the opportunity to set up a Regular League. Interested Promoters can apply by the website. For players this is another opportunity to earn money in the off season with plans for a Pro League and Cash Prize Tournaments. Again you can register your interest at the website. Shortly Season I sponsorship & media partners will be announced plus a full schedule of events so log onto www.pannafootball.com.au
Edwards, 21, is a former Australian Champion, winning back in 2009, but this year he showed a growing maturity and calmness to deservedly take home the Australian Title and a life changing opportunity to compete against the World Best, as his Prize was a trip to the SuperBall World Freestyle Open in Prague. Australia’s best Freestyles had gathered in Melbourne on the weekend of March 17 & 18 to compete in front of over 12,000 fans at a Sports & Fitness Expo that had Giants Live Strongman Competition, UFC Stars, Bodybuilding & more and the freestylers certainly created some new fans along the way with impromtu shows in the FIFA Street Interactive Zone. The Routine’s took place on Saturday, which consisted of a choreographed 90 second show, and Insane Kane took the No.1 ranking with a flawless, smooth display which impressed many onlookers. On Sunday it was time for the Head to Head Battle’s and again Edwards was in unstoppable form, hardly making any mistakes as he disposed of one of the World’s Top Female Freestylers Susan Sohar from Adelaide, who put up a great fight and really showed she is now a force to reckoned with. In the other semi final there was a major shock, as Current Australian Champion & Australia’s representative on the 2012 World Series Bevs aka Chris Beavon from Newcastle, was defeated by 18 year old C-mooth aka Curtis Maher, who put the Champion on notice early on with a powerful display of hardcore lower freestyle tricks, which forced the reigning champion into errors, from which he could not recover from. The final itself was super tight early on, with both Freestylers going trick for trick, until C-mooth tried the big PATW move, which he just failed on which allowed the composed Insane Kane to just turn up the difficulty level another notch to deservedly take home the title. The Australian Title was the fledgling sports 1st World Ranking Points event, worth 125 points to Edwards, who can now add to that total with the Oceania Freestyle Football Championships coming up later on this year in Australia and now with his trip to Prague locked in for August, he is well on his way to earning enough points to win a place on the 2013 World Freestyle Series, the sports Professional World Circuit. The Sydneysider is excited to show his skills now to the World “I’m relatively unkown on the World Freestyle Scene but I’ve been training so hard for this title, I wanted it so bad, I have a new calmer attitude and I believe I can do really well in Prague, I’m so excited and happy right now.” Oceania Freestyle Football Federation President Paul Harvey was delighted with the weekend’s action “I think this weekend represents the start of an exciting future for the sport of Freestyle Football in Australia, we had a great sponsor in FIFA Street who allowed us to put on such a professional event and offer such an amazing prize and also today we had young 15 year old Nick Dalziel from Mornington, who is a product of our Trick Star Own the Ball Academy, perform exceptionally well, he really shocked Australian Champion Bevs in his battle. We hope now with the structure we have in place as the F3 World Governing Body, that more people will take up Freestyle and the sport will grow. On a final note I’m so pleased for Kane he has the potential now to really make it big in the World Freestyle Scene and we will be making a big effort to push him towards that goal.” If you want to find out more about the event see the pictures and videos’ (They will be online on PM Tuesday) or indeed find out more about the sport you can log onto the website www.freestylefootball.com.au
D10 was inspired to start Street Football back in 2004, when just 18 he saw Ronaldinho perform an ‘Around the World’ on The World Game. He then went out into the street to try that move and the rest, as they say, is history. He has now mastered at least 30 different groundmoves, which he practises 2 hours a day as he plays the larger formats of the game at a high level, playing for Western Knights in the WA Premier League & Deportivo Caseros in Argentina, where he has just returned from a stint playing in the Argentinian Premier Futsal League. D10’s life revolves around Football, he is a sponsored athlete of Pele Sports, the Panna Pro for Football Entertainment Company Trick Star Football and the Perth Glory Skills Coach. Daniel will travel east to launch the game for EA Sports at the FIFA Street Australian Freestyle Football Titles, which is being held as part of the Fit X Sports & Fitness Expo at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on March 17 & 18. At the event he will not only be head judge of the Freestyle Competition, but will also be making appearances on the Main Stage talking and demonstrating street football tricks plus you will get the opportunity to play him on the FIFA Street game itself and get some skill tips. Lucky kids in Melbourne will also be able to learn the skills themselves from D10, when he returns in the Easter School Holidays April 3 & 4, to conduct the Trick Star Own the Ball Skill Camps, with Australian Freestyle Champion Chris Beavon, at the Football Five5, Knox Regional Football Centre. More information can be found at www.trickstarfootball.com FIFA Street featuring D10 is out in shops on Thursday March 15 and you can find your closest retailer at http://www.ea.com/au/football
The Australian Freestyle Football Titles has now firmly put itself on the world map and will be the envy of freestylers worldwide as they announce the signing of a Naming Rights Partner that will see the event now known as the FIFA Street Australian Freestyle Football Titles. EA Sports backing has also enabled the event organisers, Freestyle Football Australia, to offer a life changing 1st Prize to the winner of the event. FIFA Street’s involvement in this event is a natural fit for all parties, with the game, released March 15 in Australia, featuring many of the Freestyle Tricks that will be seen at the Titles as Freestyle Football Australia President Paul Harvey says “The new FIFA Street game looks amazing and so realistic, that I hope that kids will want to not only play the game, but to try the tricks out for real, which will produce a new generation of freestylers” EA Sports backing has also enabled the event to offer an amazing 1st Prize, as Paul Harvey goes on to say “With the winner of this event gaining 125 world ranking points, this will put him in a great position to qualify for the 2013 F3 World Freestyle Series, which will be a life changing experience, so now with EA’s help we can send the winner on a Trip to the highest world ranking event ‘Superball’ which will be held in Prague, Czech Republic from August 12 – 19, to enable them to try and fulfil there dream” This prize is just another example of how a large multi national company like EA Sports is changing the life of street footballers, just like what they have done for D10, who is Australia’s only street football representative in the game and who will also be Head Judge of the AFFT. The FIFA Street Australian Freestyle Football Titles form part of the weekend’s entertainment at Sports & Fitness Expo, FitX, which is being staged at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on March 17 & 18. Saturday will see the Freestylers perform 90 second ‘routines’ to determine their ranking for the ‘battles’ which will take place on Saturday & Sunday afternoon. Specific timing & more information on the event can be found at the website www.freestylefootball.com.au Media Enquiries: Paul Harvey on 03 5975 0965 or 0411 239496 About Freestyle Football Australia F3 (Freestyle Football Federation) is the governing body of the ‘Sport’ (Sport and Art), but has the mindset of a brand. This ensures they remain at the heart of street culture and true to the organic growth of this art form.
The date and venue for the much anticipated 2012 Australian Freestyle Football Titles (AFFT) has been announced. It will be staged over the weekend of March 17/18 at the FitX Sport & Fitness Expo (www.fitx.com.au) at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. This is a massive coo for the relatively new sport of Freestyle Football as F3 Oceania President Paul Harvey said “We are delighted to showcase Freestyle to the 10,000 plus spectators expected at this event over the weekend. With the event being a Sports & Fitness Expo we feel that Freestyle fits perfectly into this event and will hopefully encourage more people to take it up as an activity, as ‘All you need is a ball’ Also it will be great for our Freestylers to be able to showcase their talents to a big crowd”. Nina Grootz from FitX is also excited at the hook up “FitX is all about making sure that people are; being entertained, being inspired and getting involved. This partnership and drive only emphasises these elements of our event. We at FitX are excited to be working together with Freestyle Football to bring this newly endorsed sport to the mainstream via the Australian Freestyle Football Titles this year.” Another important addition to this year’s event is the fact that it will be endorsed by the sports governing body F3 (Freestyle Football Federation) and it will be an official Points Ranking Event classed as a 1 Star National Championship. This means that the winner of the event will be in with a great chance of gaining a spot on the 2013 F3 World Freestyle Series, which is the Official Pro Tour for the sport. More details about the event will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. Please log onto www.freestylefootball.com.au for more information on the AFFT

Trick Star Football is already involved in the promotion of Street Football in Australia Including Freestyle, Panna & 3on3 Football, which all require footballers to feel like they are connected to the ball, as if it's part of them, hence the term ‘Own the ball’. Put simply these academies will teach the ‘Control’ of Messi & with the ‘Tricks’ like Ronaldo. FIFA research has also revealed that the game is going to become even quicker, with even less space, which will require more ingenious tactics and technical skills to win, which in turn means the role of the playmaker is making a comeback in the game and Trick Star Football is proud to be at the forefront of making this happen. Owner of the new Trick Star 'Own the Ball' Football Coaching Method, 'Paul Harvey' said our spectacular new FIFA approved artificial pitch at Somerville Secondary College, which will provide the perfect canvas for learning ball control and skills. The classes also aim to focus on more of an individual style of coaching aswell, with class numbers not exceeding 14 per squad. They will also cater for players of all ages, from kicking there 1st ball, right through to an advanced senior level. Trick Star 'Own the Ball' Football Coaching - 2011/2012 Term Dates

D10 who is 25 & currently lives in Perth, Western Australia has been associated with Trick Star since 2009 appearing on Trick Star’s 1st Video ‘the 1st 6 months’. He also appeared on Football Superstar Series 2 for Trick Star and was a part of the Inaugural 2009 Australian Freestyle Football Tour for Fox Sports. D10’s resume is impressive to say the least, having toured with the World Famous Masters of the Game, is currently sponsored by US Street Soccer brand Calle & Akka Soccer, plays semi professional football and futsal in WA and is a qualified FFA coach working as a Community Coach for Perth Glory and Mark Lee’s Football Academy. Trick Star boss Paul Harvey said ‘As far as we are concerned D10 has the slickest groundmoves/street skills in Australia, but we could be wrong & if so? we are always open to hearing from anyone who feels they may have something better up their sleeve? In regards to the future, Trick Star has big plans for the 'NEW' Trick Star Panna Football Show Team and we look forward to our 1st team member 'Daniel', helping us to showcase what this fantastic new sport is all about.’ Later this year, D10 will be Travelling the country with Trick Star's brand new Panna Cage, where (amongst other things) we will invite special guest players to come along & try to Panna our Trick Star Panna King’. Daniel will also form part of our new Trick Star ‘Own The Ball ‘Coaching workshops, alongside featuring in a Trick Star Panna Football tutorial series, in Australian Soccer Magazine, where up and comers will be able to learn all the tricks that you see your favourite footballers do, like Messi and Ronaldo. To see a short video showcasing Daniels Panna Skills CLICK HERE!
Famous players like Ronaldo, Messi, Robinho etc all started careers by just kicking a football around in the streets either on their own or in small groups and this made them feel so comfortable with the ball at there feet and with FIFA research revealing that the game is going to become even quicker, with less space and to win will require more ingenious tactics and technical skill the role of the playmaker is making a comeback in the game and Trick Star Football is at the forefront of making this happen. The ‘Own the Ball’ campaign will be launched via a Skills Circuit Event to be run at Victorian Clubs as an ‘Alternative Training Night’ from June and then roll out into schools later in the year. The 2 hour ‘introduction’ event demonstrates the basics of ball control, with a coaching clinic by the Trick Star Coach, which will then be followed by ‘Own the Ball’ tests including juggling, rollover panna’s & control & goal interspersed with fun games of 3on3 and Panna in Australia’s only Panna Cage which will allow players to put the skills into practice. Players can then sign up for Trick Star Football Skills Schools where they will learn more groundmove & arial tricks that they can use in game situations and finally a chosen few will then be offered a spot on the Trick Star Football Academy. Alongside the live events their will also be a Poster and Online campaign which will feature tutorials on how to perform the basic moves of ‘Own the Ball’ which Trick Star has tagged ‘Skills on Monday’ as Trick Star Football owner Paul Harvey said “There is not the culture in Australia, like say Brazil, for kids to go into the street with a ball and practise on there own. That is why we want kids to try Skills on Monday. It is a night that they do not normally have club training on and is a great fun way to start the week. Our aim is not trying to teach kids how to play football, I think the FFA and coaching schools are doing a pretty good job of this. This campaign and our events and schools are about creating exciting, creative and flamboyant footballers through the teaching of ball control & tricks which is a specialised area in which we and the specialists.” If you would like your football club to host a Trick Star ‘Own the Ball’ event then please contact Paul Harvey on 03 5975 0965 or email paul@trickstarfootball.com for more details on cost and available dates.
-Entry to the Urban Bar is FREE (18+ Only) WHAT IS PANNA?... Panna is Surinamese/Dutch slang for 'playing the ball through the legs of your opponents' or you may also know it as 'nuts' or 'nutmeg'. These highly technical and extremely fun 3 minute games, are played 1on1, in our 'NEW' Trick Star Panna (Octagonal) Cage. You can still score goals, but the ultimate aim is to Panna your opponent, which wins the game outright. This exciting 'NEW' game (to Australia) is characterised by its pumpin background soundtrack, super fast pace and technical ground moves, which demands game intelligence, tight body & ball control, great coordination, as well as extreme stamina and ability to stay on the ball.
Elias has shown alot of dedication, loyalty & patience in regards to his progression through the ranks of the Trick Star Team, after being one of the first freestylers ever signed to the Team and his performance in this years AFFT's Final proved without a shadow of a doubt, just how far this young Freestyler he has come in that time. So CONGRATULATIONS LIS, we are looking forward to seeing a lot more of you this coming year.
This year’s titles dangled a huge carrot in front of the competing Freestylers with the Pro Final winner getting the opportunity of a lifetime, a place on the 2011 Freestyle Football World Championship Tour which is due to start in the middle of next year in Malaysia. Also new this year was the format which changed from being a ‘battle’ to a ‘show’ to keep it more in line with where the World Championship will be heading next year and Bevs show in the Final showed how far freestyle has come in a short time. With his routine fully choreographed to music, the 20 year old’s three minute routine was near flawless and combined big tricks in time with the beat of the music which got him over the line over reigning champ Edwards, who as usual produced some spectacular hardcore lower freestyle tricks which led to some drops and proved to be his undoing. “I was really happy with my final routine, especially after I messed up my opening qualifying routine, but I feel sad for Kane because I know how much he wanted this. I knew with the quality of freestylers here that I had to do something different to win it so was glad that the judges liked my routine and now I get to travel overseas and meet up top freestylers who share the same passion as me for the sport.” In the other Final of the day Melbourne’s Elias Oraha took out his 2nd Amateur Crown with a mature performance which has shown how far he has come in terms of his live performance and now see’s him elevated to being a member of the Trick Star Pro Team. He beat Australia’s only Female Freestyle Footballer Adelaide’s Susan Sohar who in the next few years is set to take the world by storm. Freestyle Football Australia’s Paul Harvey thanked sponsors Power Balance, Federation Square, Trick Star Football, Errea & Solo for enabling the Titles to go ahead and hopefully then can all come on board again next year as we try to grow the sport. More info is available at www.freestylefootball.com.au

Like the World Freestyle Championships, the 2010 Australian Freestyle Football Titles will use the ‘show’ format to determine the winner of the Australian Titles this year, as apposed to last years ‘battle’ format. As Paul Harvey explains “We believe that the new 'show' format will be a lot fairer to all levels of freestylers, as it means the competitors will be free to concentrate soley on putting their own unique routine together and not worrying about what anybody else is doing. It will also make judging their routine's a lot fairer, make the event more of a spectacle to watch & of course make the format a lot easier for the general spectating public to understand” In the qualifying rounds freestylers will be allowed to perform up to 2 routine’s (90 seconds for the AM Titles and 2 minutes for the Pro Titles) and if they are happy with their first routine they can declare it to be their ‘show routine’ or they can declare to scrap it and go for redemption in the ‘2nd chance round’. The top three freestylers will then go through into the Finals where they will perform just one routine (2 minutes for the AM Title and 3 minutes for the Pro Title) The official AFFT website www.freestylefootball.com.au will be launched very shortly and will feature the online entry form, plus the official release of our fantastic 2010 AFFT's Title Sponsor, so stay tuned ... A clearly delighted Harvey said “I can’t tell you how excited we are to stage the AFFT’s at Federation Square. Not only is it the place where we launched freestyle back in December 2008, but it is also the meeting place for all of the Melbourne and Interstate freestylers when they come to the city. Both we and the venue management, who have also jumped on board as a sponsor of the event, are aiming to make Fed Square ‘the’ home of Freestyle Football in Australia. It is a really exciting prospect for the Australian Freestyle Community.” The Titles, on Saturday December 4, will be held in the Urban Garden Amphitheatre venue of Fed Square, which is on Flinders Street and this will certainly provide a spectacular venue for this spectacular ‘new’ sport to Australia. The Major Prize, Entry details and Event Format will be released next Friday October 29, so stay tuned to www.freestylefootball.com.au for details.
This long awaited announcement ends months of speculation by the Australian Freestyle Football Community, who spend hours each week practicing performing an amazing array tricks, dance and showboating moves to impress their audience. Last year’s champion Kane Edwards from Sydney will undoubtedly be out to regain his hard earnt title as Australain Champion, but will be faced with some stiff competition on the day. As Event Creator Paul Harvey explains “Since we launched freestyle football in Australia 2 years ago, we have seen the standard go through the roof in terms of the technicality of the trick combinations, the quality of live performances and of course the showmanship & style, so this event will not only be a very hard competition to judge, but it will offer the perfect stage to showcase the talents of these amazing performers to the Australian Public" Full details about the 2010 Venue & Times will be announced in the coming week via Australia's street football portal www.trickstarfootball.com , so stay tuned
As he explains "It makes perfect sense to launch the inaugural league in Mornington as this is where we have held successful trials of both new sports with feedback saying they are great fun, technically challenging and fantastic for either increasing or maintaining fitness levels in the off season!. I also believe that this is the first league of it's kind in the world and due to this, we are really looking forward to hearing from other Football Clubs all over the Mornington Peninsula & Victoria, that may be interested in getting involved during our Spring and Summer Seasons, as it could be a great fundraising opportunity. And just because we're hosting the league at Mornington does not stop players from other clubs/teams taking part it, as the league is open everyone of all ages and abilities. Another point of difference will see all of the 3on3 Football Games played on a much smaller 15m x 15m 3on3 Pitch and the Panna Football Battles played out in Australia's only 4.5m Octagonal Trick Star Panna Football Cage". In support of the new Trick Star Street Football league, organizers will be hosting a FREE 'Come & Try/Team Registration Day' at Mornington Soccer Club on Sunday October 3rd from 10am and due to this, would like to invite players from all clubs and abilities to come along for a few games and a bit of fun. The Official Spring Season itself will kick off from 9am on Sunday October 17th and will run every Monday Afternoon afterwards from 4.30pm till 5.30pm for the next 7 weeks, followed by a Summer Season in early 2011. At this stage age groups are 11 years and under, 12–14 years & 15-17 years. Entry is $12 per player, if paid each week or $70 ($10 per week) up front, for the complete 7 week season, which includes a minimum of 2 x 3on3 Football Games & 2 Panna Football Games each week.
